So what do you get your husband for his birthday .......... ? I just haven't a clue, despite visiting every shop in Lerwick and beyond, and surfing the net night after night. So I came up with the idea of a gift book. It is quite small, but contains space for three vouchers - 2 for money (books and some carving tools) and the third for three "doing" things - favourite dinner (steak and kidney pudding), a visit to the Unst Boat Museum, and .......... well I'm still thinking of a third one..... I hope he likes it!
The SWRI bi-annual show is in August and one of the categories is "A Card for a Child". I've been a bit stuck on this but got some inspiration for a shaped card and found some templates on the net. I really enjoyed doing these and they look so effective and are great fun to decorate.

Last weekend I attended a workshop in Yell run by Sarah Hoseason. We spent the morning bonding fibres and this is one of my pieces. I am so pleased with it. Embedded within the fibres are sea glass, shells, feathers, square sequins and a wonderful piece of seaweed.
