Journal Pages

Whilst in Ireland I had a go at some journal pages.  I had limited supplies with me (travelling with RyanAir!) but I tried to make the most of what I had - four colours of DI inkpads and cut and dry foam, a water mister, 2 sets of Hero Art Acrylic Stamps, a small set of watercolour paints, a sheet of fancy Italian wrapping paper (!), a sheet of dictionary and music paper, some gesso and a few Crafty Individual pictures.  I supplemented supplies with a packet of napkins from a wonderful shop in Ennis.   So this is what I did with them - each day I tried to be inspired by the landscape around me or did something completely at will.  I thoroughly enjoyed doing each page, particularly as I had so much time on my hands - which is most unusual!

Grungy Monday 1 : Play Time!

And here we go with Linda's new challenge over on Studio L3 - Grungy Monday.  I was sad to miss the last couple of weeks of the Compendium of Curiorisites Challenge due to being on holiday, but great to start a whole new set of challenges.  Click on the Studio L3 link to find out more!

The challenge is still based on the great Tim Holtz techniques, but might be anything from a video on his website, techniques from Compendium of Curiosities ................. you get my gist.  So Grungy Monday No. 1 is:

12 Tags of Christmas 2008 Tag No. 10

Click the link  above to see this stunning tag.  The challenge is about being inspired by the technique, so I did the tutorial and here is my take on the tag.

I must admit I don't have much in the way of Distress Reinkers so my background was blended and then misted with a Perfect Pearls spray.  And I'm glad at last to have used the lovely stamp from Crafty Individuals.

I couldn't resist adding in the "Play" ticket as it was so much fun making this tag and also taking part in all these wonderful challenges.

Thanks again to Linda for starting yet another challenge for us all.

Cute as a Button

Well ... a long time with no posts, but it has been very hectic with visits to family in Shropshire and Exeter and a lovely family wedding.  Then back for a couple of days and we were both off to Ireland (Corofin traditional music festival, a concertina workshop for Terry and a day spent going back to Terry's family roots).  We stopped off on the way home for a long weekend with our new grandson Callum who is now 10 weeks old.

I got lots of lovely photographs of Callum for scrapbooking so just had to use this one for a layout at this month's Shetland Scrapbookers meeting.  I've still not got much in the way of baby papers, but a good hunt through some (very old) stash revealed a few bits and pieces.

He's such a lovely baby, so very contented and smiles readily.  Just the apple of his Nana's eye ....... and cute as a button!
