Grungy Monday 23 : Tim in Ten

I have just about made this week's Grungy Monday Challenge!   It has been pretty hectic since getting back from my week in Rome, but Rome was FANTASTIC! and so was the food - a diet is looming ............

So what were the rules for this week's GM Challenge:  make a greeting card, using at least one Tim Holtz product and make that card in 10 minutes or less.  Wow - there are some wonderful examples on the site at Studio L3 - do check them out!

I have to admit to loving this resist technique and this stamp and painting it quickly with distress inks.  So, yes I am cheating a bit in that  I have done this before, but not against the clock! I used Broken China, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutter distress inks, blending them with small pieces of blending foam.  Check out the Tim Holtz blog for more ideas with distress inks here.

I just got the card made before the buzzer went off but my layering is a bit wonky!  Thank you Linda for another great challenge

A Tangible Piece of Love ..............

........... is how Jessie at my Scrapbook Design Workshop yesterday described scrapbooking.  Isn't that wonderful!  And she went on to say that it was such a positive and happy experience, not just the "doing" but the "finished" also.  Her mini-book made at another workshop had "spread happiness around the world" and she couldn't think of anything that has the same effect.

And yes we did have a very happy experience yesterday - I hope it was positive for all those who came.   This was lunchtime - everyone still working!

Here are some of the finished layouts:

Some were beginners, others more experienced, and one had not done scrapbooking before but all the layouts were fantastic and all so very different despite following the same layouts.  Sadly we ran out of time before some were completed, but we did make our own flowers and embellishments.
