Take a deep breath and ......... spray!

I have not joined in the Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog Monthly Challenge for ages but being February the theme is hearts and flowers and this fitted well with a technique I wanted to try.

I have been so taken by the work of Anna Dabrowska also known as Finnabair.  Her layouts are breathtaking in terms of textures and colours.  I keep going back again and again to look at her work.  I finally noticed she had a couple of videos on her blog which shows how she achieves her wonderful style.  I would thoroughly recommend them, they are long but engrossing.

So this is my attempt at Finnabair's style!  I made the tag and when it was complete I sprayed it - nervy or what !!

I made up my tag by layering some Prima papers, some of which I stamped with the Artistic Stamper Calligraphic Mat No. 9 (I love this stamp!), although it has got a bit lost in the spraying.  I then layered a few bits and pieces which were lying around the desk - oops one of my flowers dropped off! so you can see the label really is a "bit".

As I didn't think the spraying would work I did take a photograph of the tag before spraying!  But I like the sprayed version, even though I have been a bit heavy handed down the left hand side!

I don't make new year resolutions but I am resolved to use up the horrendous number of Prima style flowers I have.  They were bought for workshops a few years ago and myself and my ladies were disappointed by the quality, so that was when I started to make my own.

I took one of the petals and just scrunched it up and then stuck it to another and scrunched that up, using four layers altogether.

They look quite good squished up against the others.  These are Prima Hydranga Petals (the ones with the four leaves which never seem to work for me) which again I have scrunched up (two layers) and added some stamens.

Do have a look at the Artistic Stamper Blog for this challenge as the DT pieces are amazing.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Oh Jennie, this looks fabulous!!! What an amazing beautiful tag! I couldn't agree more about Anna D's work, it is amazing. Wonderful to see how much depth those few sprays make to the overall design!

Thank you for joining us over at the Artistic Challenge!
