Textures with a Twist

Shimmer Sheetz are a whole new experience for me and I've enjoyed experimenting with them for Crafts To Challenge You this month.  As it is half way through the month there is an added twist to the textures theme - add something shiny or glittery.

Despite all the experiments with this product (it embosses beautifully) more than anything I loved the way just plain stamping  created such a lovely effect on the pearl and colour background.

This Stampin Up Rose stamp is one of my favourites and I think it would have been lovely to ink it with some form of alcohol ink pens (which I don't have). Instead I layered my piece into a double embossed frame using Spellbinders Dies and created a small cluster of flowers and butterflies.

It is not easy to photograph the shimmer sheetz but I think you can see how the butterfly is shadowed n the pearl shimmer which also takes up the pink of the flowers.  A new product for me, but one I will certainly return to.

In case you didn't think the Shimmer Sheetz were sparkly enough I added pearls and crystal pins!

Thanks for looking and there is plenty of time to join with us in the Challenge at Crafts Too

Glad you pointed out the butterfly shimmer on the sheet - really shows clearly in that shot how lovely the finish is. And that stamp is so pretty, I don't think it needs colouring at all! Lovely, delicate creation.
