Deck the Halls ........

Time for this month's second twist at Crafts-Too Challenge You and whilst the main theme is still Christmas Festivities we want to know what Christmas Means To You.

We have a great tradition of making presents for each other in our family and one of my Aunts has decked our house out in beautiful patchwork and sewn decorations over the last thirty years.  I love making Christmas Tree decorations as they are very suited to paper and generally hang well without overloading the tree.

For this decoration I made a vellum rosette - I added some Music Tissue Tape to the vellum before cutting it and edged it with a Gold Pen before rolling it up.

I have layered this over a Marianne Design Die Cut (two layers stuck together) and added some of my usual bits and pieces - scrim, ribbon and a handmade flower.

I used some lovely Stampin Up buttons to give the decoration a bit of weight.

Not the easiest thing to photograph without a Christmas tree!

There is still time to join us in our challenge and to share what Christmas means to you.

Thanks for visiting!

Hi Jennie. Your decoration is gorgeous! I've not long had the rosette die, and I've not tried vellum with it yet. Great idea backing it with the tissue paper... looks fabulous. Love your rose and scrim on it as well. Can just imagine it on a Christmas tree. Have a wonderful weekend. Cheers, Di

Jennie this is stunning.
That will look just beautiful against the dark green needles of the tree - may we have a picture, please, when the time comes?!
