Frost Inspired Tag

My final tag of the month for Crafts Too Challenge You is again inspired by the Shetland weather!  Those seed head stalks in the flower borders were one day last week tinged with frost, so I decided to use white embossing powder for my butterfly background, but continue with the sepia tones of the seed heads. The frost was a brief respite one morning from the torrential rain and storm force winds we have had for the last two weeks.

Despite the weather I hope everyone has had a wonderful couple of festive days.  It has been very quiet here mainly due to the storm force wind and heavy rain, but our hearts go out to those who are experiencing severe flooding.  It must be awful.

So this is what I did for my tag:  After embossing my butterflies on an ATC I squished Vintage Photo Distress Ink onto my craft mat and soaked up as much as I could on the card stock trying to get some darker tones here and there (the Tim Holtz Wrinkle Free Distress Technique). I then overstamped with a text stamp again using Vintage Photo - a bit hit and miss but exactly the look I was aiming for.

I edged the ATC with a gold edging pen and then layered it onto some text paper then some sandable card stock which had been stamped into after sanding (I love that effect).

A cheap paper flower got a bit of a make-over with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a little spritz of water to scrunch it up!

I hope you have enjoyed our challenge this month as much as I have.  Taking a look around us at the Natural World and then using it as inspiration for projects has been very enjoyable and certainly got me going on my projects faster than usual.  You still have this week to join us at C2CU for Twist 2 which is to add any winged creature.

Have a great weekend and continue to enjoy the Christmas festivities x
