Through the Craft Room Window ......

If I look out of my craft room windows I am treated to a wonderful view south across the garden, the fields and hills, the loch and then the cliffs in the distance.

As a complete opposite from my snow inspired tag last week, the day I created this project the sun was shining and there was hardly a cloud in the sky. The colours reflected on the loch were so beautifully delicate for what was a winter's day, so I decided to use these colours as inspiration for this week's DT piece for Crafts Too Challenge You.

My DT pack contained some white Starfoam flower stickers and I thought these would make some rather nice embossed elements on the tag.  So I stuck them in a random fashion down the tag and then gave everything a covering of gesso.

I then splodged Broken China and Shabby Shutter Distress Inks on my craft mat and sprayed with a lot of water and just kept soaking the tag into inks until I got a really good coverage over the foam flowers.

Then I picked up little bits and pieces of ink elsewhere on the tag (the Tim Holtz Wrinkle Free Distress technique - my favourite).

I used my ribbon to mop up all the remaining ink on the mat.  Then I made a couple of flowers from some Prima Hydranga Petals scrunched up and layered with some white stamens inside.

And here is the tag mounted on some brown cardstock as a topper ready for a card when needed.

You have the rest of the week to join us at C2CU for this the final week of the first part of our challenge which is the Natural World and Add A Flower.  There are some great inspirational pieces from the rest of the DT and some amazing entries.

Thanks for visiting and have a lovely weekend x

Wow Jennie
This tag is stunning, love how you did the foam and gesso, brilliant idea.
Don't we have the best scenery in this Country. I did Banff in Canada once and thought theirs was stunning, but when I got home and compared ours was just as stunning. Your view is incredible, I would love that view. I am only 25 minutes from Lake Windermere and feel lucky by that. Debbiex

Wonderful tag Jennie and such gorgeous colours! The way you used those flowers is so clever, I thought at first that it was an amazing stencil I had not seen before...
The views from your craft room are breath taking! Live the dream indeed!!

So pretty! I love the dimension from the foam pieces and the crinkle ribbon is beautiful!
Oh, oh, and oh again - this is completely glorious, Jennie! What a great idea to use the foam stickers as embossing (gives me lots of ideas!) - and I (of course) adore the delicate colour palette - simply fabulous!!
