And so we commence our Vintage Journey .........

Hello everyone and I am so thrilled to be sharing the launch today of the fabulous new challenge blog

A Vintage Journey

and equally thrilled to be part of the amazing Design Team who will be bringing you fortnightly challenges to those of you who just love to make your craft in a vintage, shabby and mixed media style and who are strongly influenced by Tim Holtz - his products, techniques and projects.

Our very first challenge is

Anything Tim

revisit one of Tim's techniques or tags
use his stamps and/or products
use one of his videos for inspirations
take any of his projects/colours/embellishments
as inspiration

it really is anything goes!

For my first project I have revisited some of my Tim favourites with this very feminine tag.

After embossing my tags I used Wrinkle Free Distress and Blended Spritz and Flick Techniques over the embossing.

I also used my favourite colour combination of Distress Inks: Victorian Velvet, Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord and always a little bit of Vintage Photo!

The dress form die is my absolute favourite and got dressed up with more embossed card stock and a lighter use of the  Distress Inks.

Ribbons were also coloured using the same combination of DIs.

I finished everything off with my handmade shabby roses made using the Tattered Florals Die, along with more embellishments using  the Distressed Doily Die, the wonderful new Garden Greens Die and some Chit Chat Stickers.

The techniques I used can be found on Tim's blog HERE (just look through the videos) and in Compendium of Curiosities Volume 1. If you are interested in making my shabby roses click the link HERE for my blog tutorial.

Our challenge is being sponsored by Country View Crafts and there is a fabulous prize for the chosen winner and a chance to return as a Guest Designer.

So if your stash and cupboards are full of Tim Holtz goodies why not join us for this wonderful first challenge. You can use any products to enter the challenge but there must be a link to Tim's techniques or products in some way. Just make sure you read the Travelling Instructions before entering!

Good luck and look out for more during the two week challenge - a Design Team Focus on the 10th and a fabulous Guest Designer on the 17th. And be sure to see what the rest of the Design Team have been producing as well - amazing projects!

Jennie...your tag is so soft, so feminine, so shabby chic and beautifully done. I love the pastel shades of lavenders that you've used on this. The flowers are gorgeous as are the embossed and die cut layers in the background. <3 Candy
