There is no heart for me like yours

Following on from my fabulous weekend with Finnabair I have been itching to do another journal page. As our theme for the month at Anything But A Card is Summer Lovin I thought I would use this lovely photograph of my parents, taken many summers ago before they married, possibly at Walton or Clacton as they used to cycle there regularly from Colchester for the day.

I got everything a bit back to front in terms of the gesso and adding the embellishments, so things were stuck down and pulled up again and there are some strategically placed cogs covering the holes!

I used some die cuts hanging around the desk and also added some texture paste through a script mask. I love this quote which I found on Pinterest and which is so appropriate for my parents.

I love the way everything gets covered in the spray paints to a lesser or greater degree. I am still waiting for the delivery of spray bottles for my Luminaire sprays, so I used Glimmer Mists which are not quite as strong in colour, BUT they are very orange!

Which makes this a very good candidate piece for the current challenge at Our Creative Corner this month which to use the colour Orange - Julia having chosen the fabulous Leighton painting Flaming June as inspiration (one of my favourites).

I do hope you will join us at Anything But A Card for our Summer Lovin challenge. This is the third week of the challenge and a wide variety of Design Team pieces to view as well as some amazing work from Guest Designer Tracy Alden. So do pop over for a look!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Fabulous Jennie, great texture and embellishments. I love the quote you've used and the lovely picture of your folks.
I wish I'd made a few notes during the day we spent with Anna . The old grey matter isn't quite as retentive as it used to be ! X

A fantastic Finnabair style journal spread here Jennie. You clearly absorbed her style ideas and I love the vibrancy of this one. A beautiful sentiment too. Thank you so much for joining us at Our Creative Corner. Jenny x
I'm in love with this, Jennie - what a beautiful page, with a wonderful photo at its heart. The colours are glorious, and I love how you are taking the Finnabair inspiration and making it your own. There's a delicate simplicity to the embellishing which I really love. Beautiful!

This is just beautiful Jennie. I would love to take a class with Finnabair - you are obviously a good student.
Jennie how lovely this is! I like how the bits of detail sit so subtly in the background, hinting but not revealing. Super summer colours too!
