Not my usual crafting !!

Well I must admit to having a minor heart failure when I saw this month's challenge theme at Anything But A Card. Zentangle pieces are not something that I would normally even attempt. I thought perhaps something small - ATC size, but hey! I got a bit carried away once I started (11" x 8")!

It is rather rough in places as I am not good with a pen these days due to arthritis in my hands, so don't look too closely! And the painting is a bit patchy, but I just wanted to get a little colour into the piece. I used Mustard Seed and Ripe Persimmon Distress Inks for the daisies and various mixes of Bundled Sage and Forest Moss for the leaves.

And so how did I start: I took my pen (yep no practice pencil lines here!) and drew the big daisy in the bottom left corner and then a few leaves. After that I filled in the spaces with more daisies and the negative space with the black pen. It needed something vertical to balance it all out so I managed some seed pods down the right hand side. This was actually to be a practice piece!

All I can say is JOIN IN with our challenge and like me you might surprise yourself!  There is still time to enter but even if you don't please hop on over to Anything But A Card to see what my Design Team colleagues have been putting together.

Thank you for visiting today and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I think I would have the same panic response - but what a great result - a whole new look for you, but you wear it well!

Me too! Major panic, would have feigned injury or emergency, LOL! But heh Jennie, what a great result..... Maybe you will do more! Nikki xx
I love your piece. I can see this on a large canvas wall hanging. It's delightfully Spring/Summer with the pops of colour and the daisy motiff. Cheers, Di

Learning to tangle, dangle, doodle and be all Zen about it at this end too. Love how you have tackled this head on, fantastic size which i think has helped your creativity to blossom :-) xxx
