Autumn Magic

We have a fabulous new challenge running over at Anything But A Card for this month either

Autumn Magic

or

Spring Magic

depending on which hemisphere you reside in (we are a fully global challenge site !)

And more exciting is that we have a wonderful array of fabulous talent joining us on the Design Team from this month so I hope you will welcome Rita Marie, Heather, Toni, Rupa, Pallavi, Ruth, Neva, Lynne, Elaine and Jo. Some of us old ones are still there! but I am sure you are going to love a wonderful selection of new and fantastic projects and styles from around the world.

And so … (as I am very much in the north) to my Autumn Magic hanging.  I am still playing around with Autumn Distress Inks: Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey and Aged Mahogany. I have used them to create the background and for the stamping on this tag with the top cut off.

I love this pumpkin stamp from the Tim Holtz Halloween Blueprint Stamp Set. I added some Dimensional Glaze to the stalk for a bit of definition.

I have made some more flowers using the Tattered Florals die and I used the same technique on the Tattered Leaves too.

I mounted my (topless) tag onto a piece of mount board stained with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. I then used Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Crackle Glaze and Nougat Paint for the crackle finish. I wasn't sure whether it would work over the Distress Ink, but I didn't want to introduce a new colour. I am pleased to say it works well.

I finished off the piece with this lovely quote by William Cullen Bryant.

Thank you for joining me today and I DO hope you will hop on over to ABAC to see the fabulous projects from the rest of the Design Team and also join in the fun!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

What a wonderful interpretation. I am glad to know that I am not the only one that is experimenting or playing and hoping that inks etc will work with other products. I really like the subtle colors. Neva

Wonderful fall piece, Jennie! My favorite detail is the lace somewhat hidden underneath, bringing in some of the antiqued white from your background piece.
A truly stunning piece, I love your crackled background, warm colours and of course your outstanding flower and leaves.

This is absolutely beautiful Jennie. The colours have that soft, misty autumnal feel and the ribbons, leaves and flowers are just perfect to complement the pumpkin.
