Love is in the Air

Yes "love is in the air" over at A Vintage Journey today with a brand new challenge chosen by our fabulously talented Astrid.

A flower cannot blossom without sunshine
And man cannot live without love

So the saying goes! For this challenge please share what moves your heart with us, be it a Valentine's card for a loved one, a heart themed project, or something else that expresses what true love means to you.  Just make sure that Tim's style is evident in whatever you make.

I am somewhat into mixed media art journal pages at the moment and decided to use this opportunity to journal the fact that it will be 40 years in April that Terry and I first started going out together. We married a year later, so our 40th Wedding Anniversary is imminent too! Where does the time go ?

There are no "how to" photographs as it just sort of happened! Although these pages are very much in my own style I have used Tim's products (stamps, paste, stencils, inks, etc.) to complete it.

I started with various tissue tapes on both pages along with some pieces of dictionary paper, which then got a coat of gesso.

Texture Paste through the Gothic Layering stencil came next and once dry I did some background stamping, blending and splattering with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Our photographs are both framed with similar stamped tags and tickets, again all stamped in Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. The 1975 Industrious Stickers were first painted with Picket Fence Distress Paint and then lightly covered with Ginger Alcohol Ink.

I love this bird stamp and as I stamped him on tissue paper (with Arcival Potting Soil) I managed to get him looking both ways!

I gave everything a final splattering of Picket Fence Distress Stain Spray before adding the photographs.

Do hop on over to A Vintage Journey as my teamies have come up with some amazing projects - and not all Valentine's either! And of course I hope you join us with your own challenge piece.

It is lovely to have you join me today and I really appreciate those of you who have started following over the last week and of course everyone who visits and leaves such lovely comments. Thank you x

 Have a lovely weekend.

Jennie x
