Art Journalling for A Vintage Journey

A huge welcome to everyone - new followers as well as old friends - on this the first Friday of the month and a new challenge over at A Vintage Journey.  This month our wonderfully talented Alison (aka Butterfly) has challenged us to

Art Journalling - Tim Style

Your journal pages can be any size, format or type, but we want to see some Tim techniques, grunge or vintage style and of course any Tim products.

I am still quite new to art journalling but my style seems to be developing into a more mixed media scrapbook style and of course Tim products, dies and stamps are just perfect for this. I love making little collages of tickets, letters and tags and of course so many of the stamps from the Shabby  Chic and Correspondence stamp sets are just perfect.

I created a background using texture paste and as my Wilted Violet Distress Spray Stain and Distress Ink Pad had literally just been delivered by the postman I decided to just dive in with them pairing the Wilted Violet with Ground Espresso for a vintage shabby look. I used tissue tape and the Harlequinn and Splatters layering stencils to create the texture and old shabby look.

And "dare to dream" ……….. I am so glad I did as I have now been to all three destinations Pairs, New York and London and had the most amazing holidays. So where next ????

Thank you for joining me today and do hop on over to A Vintage Journey for some amazingly inspired art journal pages from my fellow Creative Guides.

And would YOU like to be considered as a Creative Guide ?? If so check out the link HERE as Brenda has put out a DT call for two new Creative Guides but you will have to be quick as the DT call closes on 5 October.

Happy Crafting!

I adore the variety of colour tones and shades you've created here, from the ethereally pale background to that wonderful vibrant ticket amongst the ephemera. Beautiful collaging... really lovely pages.

Truth be told, I love your style of art journaling better than some of the more random, heavily worked looks. Perhaps a style I find more do-able. But this is just gorgeous and speaks volumes, even in it's simplicity. I love those layered bits over your subtly textured background! You may just have inspired to give this Art Journal thing a try! Hugs! PS You have really gotten some use out of Tim's newest colors! Well done!
