Spring Time Wallet Card

Hello and thank you for popping by today for this my second project of the month for Country View Challenges where our challenge theme is SPRING!

I needed a card for a special birthday so I decided to make a Wallet Card from a Ranger Giant Tag.

These were my choice of "Colours of Spring" Distress Inks.  I love being able to stack the pads like this so that I can get an idea of how the colours might look together.

I started by folding my giant tag into the wallet shape and then used Texture Paste through a stencil in the corners of the bottom of the front and top of the flap. Once this was dry I puddled all my colours (apart from the green) on the craft mat and let the tag soak them up here and there. I wasn't going for a full covering. Then I overstamped with one of my favourite stamps (Stampers Anonymous Classis #19) in the space left with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.

On the inside I did pretty well the same but without the texture paste and blending the inks through the stencil instead.

The sentiment covers the magnet for the closure and is one from Sara Naumann's new stamp release at PaperArtsy.

I used the same inks to colour my flowers (you can find the tutorial HERE on my blog) and filled them with these gorgeous white stamens.  The fancy brad on the front covers the other magnet.

And finally ribbon dyed with a watery Victorian Velvet.

The addition of a sentiment, a leaf and a few pearl gems just finishes it off. I do like using the Giant Tags for a special card - more of a present than a card, but always very much appreciated.

We are still only half way through the challenge month, so there is still time to join us with your spring themed project.

Have a great weekend.
