Forgotten Things

I thought I would share a layout I made for a challenge at Shetland Scrapbookers last month.  Back in May we set ourselves a CSI Challenge and we had all summer to come up with the layout.  Some members found it alot of fun and others are still working on it!

White was one of the five scheme colours and I chose to work with this as my main colour and found some old 12 x 12 smooth white sheets bought in the early days of scrapbooking but not used since.  I made my own background paper by stamping with this fabulous Blazing Poppies stamp by IndigoBlu and then generally splattering the page with more Frayed Burlap DI.

Orange and lime green were two of the other colours (along with blue and grey), so these white flowers got the treatment with Spiced Marmalade DI - again another inky colour I have not used in absolutely ages.

Using all these old supplies fits in very nicely with this month's challenge at Our Creative Corner which is Forgotten Things.  Such a great challenge as we have all got something hidden away we have not used for a while.  There are some stunning DT inspirational pieces and some wonderful entries so do pop over and have a look.

The photograph is of my parents before they were married (about 1952) and I expect Mum had made her dress as I see the same design popping up in a lot of photographs around that time.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are getting better weather than we are at the moment!

It's a lovely layout, Jennie - so delicate and elegant. The spray of flowers looks gorgeous, and I love the little bookplate for the sentiment. Beautiful layers framing the photo - which is also lovely! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Our Creative Corner.

Fall has arrived right on schedule in Indiana! It's been a lovely weekend (much better than the hot and humid days we had last week...).
