Once in a Blue Moon .......

As April is a month with five weeks, Gingersnap Creations are hosting their "Once in a Blue Moon" Challenge with a huge choice of past challenges to choose from (you can find the details here.  So I am going for the Shades of Blue Challenge (GC60) with this collage piece I made for my husband for Christmas.  In my hurry to get it framed (errr ... on Christmas Eve) I didn't take any photos or manage to get it onto my blog.  So the photos are not so great as the glass has got in the way a bit.

I love blues, they are my absolute favourite color and as we do alot of sailing they get used quite alot in my work.  The background of the piece is a Crafty Individuals stamp stamped with Sepia ink on tissue tex.  I inked and sprtized a couple of pages to create the squares, some of which are embossed.  The photographs are close ups of our own boat printed on canvas.  So there is quite a bit of texture which you can't really see in the photos.

There are some lovely pieces of work over on the challenge and it really is worth hitting the link here and having a look.

PS  My husband loved his present!
