Right at the last minute ..............
Today is the very last day for this month's Swirlyhues submission and yes ..... that's me just scraping in! We have just returned from a fabulous 10 days in Ireland, where I met up with and this year got to know, some fabulous people (more about that in another post) and four days with our little grandson (and his Mum and Dad of course). I just didn't get the chance to finish this layout before we went away, so yesterday, in between unpacking, washing, Tesco's, opening mail, etc. I managed to get it all stuck down. But it was too late to get a good photograph - grhhhh! So here I am bright and early submitting this blog post.
This month's colour hues were quite interesting and whilst I loved them I might not have chosen to use them for a vintage layout. However, I recently got a heap of photographs printed of my father's side of the family and I just had to use this one of my Great Aunt Alice (or Allie as she was known). I am not sure she would have gone for the pink and apricot colours, but I think she would have liked the blues and the vintage feel.
This was the Swirlyhues board: hues and sketch layout. Then of course we have to use at least one of the amazing array of tutorials posted on the site: so I used Lisa G's Swirly Hibiscus Flower Tutorial, Camilla's Layering Tutorial and one of Lisa G's digital butterflies. I just love making the Hibiscus flowers and now have quite a stock of them. The fit so well with the small distressed rolled roses.
Papers were from Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby Collection and the Distress Collection, along with this lovely piece of Webster's pages music. The beautiful corner element is by Dusty Attic painted with Snowcap Acrylic Paint - I am just loving these Dusty Attic pieces.
So now off to get some breakfast and hopefully I'll get to post a few more pictures of some crafting I did in Ireland over the next few days.
