Sizzling Summer Take Two .......
Time for another scheduled post as today it is my spot at Country View Crafts for my second Design Team piece for the current challenge - Sizzling Summer. I do hope you will join us if you haven't already done so.
The one thing I do miss about summers here in the north of the UK is the lovely feeling of wandering alongside fields of corn and enjoying the stillness of a hot summer's day.
So this second tag is made in a similar way to my Sizzling Seashore tag but in totally different colours and embellishments and trying to evoke the colours and feel of the fields and the sunshine.
I covered my tag in exactly the same way as before, but this time I also used some gorgeous millinery netting.
(It is worth looking on Etsy at some of the millinery supplies - lovely textures in the lace and netting!)
This time I sprayed the surface with a spray made from Stampin Up Certainly Celery Re-inker and a bit of Glimmer Mist Sprout here and there.
At the very edges I sprayed a little Vintage Photo Spray (made from DI Re-inker) and mopped it up immediately to get just a faint colouring.
My sentiment was again stamped on tissue paper in Green Staz On Ink and applied very carefully with Claudine Hellmuth Mixed Medium.
I had some fun making some poppies using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die and spraying the cream cardstock with Oriental Poppy Glimmer Mist. There was a bit of Slate Glimmer Mist in the bottom of my spray box and the flowers just caught it here and there.
The lovely green flower stamens in the white flower also came from a millinery shop. Sadly I am nearly at the end of these white flowers!
I used the last of a Prima vine to finish the top and bottom of the tag, making a few little "squished" buds from the small flower of the Tattered Florals die.
I am really enjoying these mixed media adventures and am constantly on the look out for what I might be able to stick down for the lovely texture!! I am also having fun making my own sprays from re-inkers - not just DIs but the new Stampin Up ones too - absolutely gorgeous colours.
Well I wonder where I will be when this post goes out ?? Thanks for looking and plenty of time to join in with our wonderful challenge at Country View Crafts.
