Guest Designing at Frilly and Funkie!

I am very excited to be Guest Designer over at Frilly and Funkie today after my Autumn Wreath won the Home Decor Challenge last month. The current theme at Frilly and Funkie is to make a Gift from the Heart and as I always love my Christmas gifts to friends and family to be "useful" I have made a Tissue Box Cover.

I found a great tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for the basic box and was delighted to find that USA tissue boxes are the same size as those here in the UK! I made the base box in light brown cardstock and then covered it with Maja Design paper stock.

I cut the hole in the top with a decorative die, but if you are layering your cardstock as I have done you do need to make sure that you can glue down your pieces after die cutting otherwise you will have some "flappy" papers around the hole. I held the three pieces together with some masking tape, cut the whole, then glued each piece together separately putting glue around the both the edge of the paper and the die cut hole.

Then it was down to decorating. I kept my cluster around the bottom right hand corner so that the issues could be pulled out without harming the embellishments.

I glued some vintage lace all around the box sides and arranged another cluster on the front.

The finished box - all ready for its recipient!

I do hope you will hop on over to Frilly and Funkie as the design team (as always) have created an array of amazing projects. And also visit the shop (the Funkie Junkie Boutique) too as Linda has the most wonderful collection of unique vintage items.

Thank you for joining me today!
