Seed Packet ATC



Today I am sharing another of my experiments from my "play day" on Friday. I have been itching to use these flowers made with the new Tim Holtz Mini Tattered Florals Thinlits Die - they are so TINY !!! So what better than an ATC to show them off.

I used a piece of Graphic 45 Time to Flourish paper for the background which has been gessoed, textured, spritzed and stamped!  These two little tags from the Time to Flourish papers looked like seed packets.

I made the flowers from the usual cream cardstock and very gently inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink before rolling them up. These are the smallest and middle sized dies. I love them!

 There is a new mixed media challenge called Anything But Cute and the first challenge is "A Vintage Garden". Again this is another DT which includes a number of friends and creators who I much admire so do hop on over and have a look as there is so much to inspire. 
I have a vintage style greenhouse close to the house which is my sitterooterie and I love collecting little vintage bits and pieces to sit amongst the flowers and my favourites are packets of seeds which I keep in a little wooden box. I adore sweet pea seed packets but our garden is too exposed to grow them, but I do love looking at pictures on the packets and dreaming that they might actually grow!(I actually have a lot of silk flowers in and around the ivy in the greenhouse - now I have given my secret away!)

Hi Jennie, aww I loved hearing about your garden and your secret, what a clever idea!! :) Your ATC seed packet is just so quaint and very vintage, I love how you've put it together. I do hope this now has a little home in your greenhouse.

Oh love this and in your hands those little flower dies look amazing, I mean the flowers of course, not the dies lol... Love how you have used those papers, this looks so fabulous ad perfect for the theme!!!

Your ATC is so charming. I love it. Thanks for the info on that little TH flower die (I want). Your flowers are amazing! I live in the U.S. and recently have watched some episodes of a BBC series called "Shetland". I thought of you and your blog when I saw the scenery of the islands. It is very beautiful! P. S. I hope it is really filmed there, or I will feel very silly with this comment :-))

Oh wow Jennie, this is just a beauty of an ATC! I can't believe how much detail you fit on such a small surface! The little flowers are perfectly done and I just adore the seed packet idea! Your greenhouse is so beautiful, how jealous am I...regardless of fake flowers or not!!

Round of applause to you Jennie for actually being able to make things grow! That is awesome sauce! I don't have a green thumb at all so I have much respect for people that can make things grow. Now to your wonderful ATC-I agree that those papers look like seed packets! How clever you are! And your use of the mini flowers, the gesso, your stitching, all lend the perfect elements so this awesome piece! Amazeballs!

What a gorgeous ATC, Jennie - so delicate. Lovely to see your first experiments with the teeny tiny flowers - they look so pretty. But I think for once this might be one die I can leave in the shop... looks way too fiddly to me!!

I did laugh about the silk flowers, but it seems like a much better idea to me - after all, think of all the time you save for crafting if you haven't got to look after the plants!

Jennie, what a breath of fresh air you have brought with this lovely ATC! There are so many delicate elements all brought together in a wonderful composition! Your flowers always amaze me, and I could sit and look at this tiny work of art for hours!

Thank you for sharing your lovely green house with us, too! I have dreams of having one of these again! We had one years ago on another property, but I was too busy with work to ever get to untangle it from it's thicket or appreciate it.
