Scottish Gent - 12 Tags of 2015

Well I had no intention of doing Tim's tag today but I got an idea in my head and just kept running with it!

With very little in the way of the required stash (not even the layering stencil!) I had to be rather inventive and I know I am way off piste with this one, but it was a lot of fun. I feel it has a sort of a Jack Vettriano feel to it! (Apologies to JV!)

For all the details of Tim's tag and the techniques they are HERE on his blog. I did do the tartan technique but with the Woodgrain Layering Stencil and I followed the concept of paper piecing - but that is about where it ended!

I have always thought the Festive Gent wasn't just for Christmas and so I decided to give him a tartan make-over with a little bit of help from Umbrella Man. Those Tiny Tattered Florals were just perfect - these are the smallest ones.

I needed a light background to put him on, so came up with this using Faded Jeans and Peeled paint, as in the tartan, but in lighter hues.

And so there he is - my Scottish Gent with a special delivery of a bouquet of flowers, which for me is always the #bestdayever.

Thank you for joining me (again!) today.

Oh my Jennie such a clever idea giving your Christmas Gent the umbrella and far nicer than Tim's tag this month, yours is so much more inspirational. Hope you win.

Such a brilliant make Jennie. I love the subtle, icy back ground and your Scottish man looks handsome. Love the way you have incorporated the technique here and the flowers always give life to your projects.
