Our Beautiful Treasure

Well I am back pretty promptly for Country View Challenges this month with my second make where our theme is "add some texture". Our gorgeous granddaughter had her second birthday a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to create a layout to replace the one which sits in our sitting room following her first birthday.

I wanted to create a background and embellishments which would not take anything away from the gorgeous photograph. I started with a piece of Maja Design paper which was quite "pink" and gave it a good layer of gesso and added some texture paste and tissue tape.

The ornate die cut was covered in Rock Candy Distress Glitter which gives a wonderful textured feel. I also decided to use some bought flowers which were gorgeously textured and kept the wires and added some pearl buttons (which I have gessoed) which are tiny gestures but all of which add more textures and interest.

The layout is machine stitched onto some matching cardstock and all the edges distressed.

We don't get to see our grandchildren very often as they live on the Scottish Mainland, but having this layout on permanent display will certainly bring back lots of lovely memories.

Thank you for joining me and I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
