Designer Gents!
Industrial designer gents no less!
Hello everyone and here we are at the start of another challenge at A Vintage Journey and this month we are challenging you to go
Industrial!
Use your foil, tape or metallic card stocks with your texture fades/embossing folders to create an industrial creation all your own. Whether its a background or bloom or anything, don't limit your paint colour to black - the industrial technique looks great with all colours of paints!
Black … hmmm …. well you know how it is … you just get carried away on a rush of creativity and before you know it … yes, it's black!
I've got a bit of a thing about long thin hangings at the moment and this one is 8" x 3". I used some heavy duty grey board and gave it a coating of gesso before adding some crackle texture using some super Andy Skinner stencils.
I then set about spraying with Hickory Smoke and Vintage Photo Distress Spray Stains and I think there is also a little bit of Black Soot in there as well (but we won't say too much about that ……. )
Having recently attended an Andy Skinner workshop I had some fun with the cogs painting them first with DecoArt paints and then adding a rusty look.
Finally these two gents had been in mind all along as the original Industrial designers but I couldn't get them all in! So I opted for these two (I like the moustaches). I stamped them on tissue paper in order to allow them to merge with the crackle texture.
And so there you have it - my industrial designers!
in black …
For some much more colourful projects you must hop on over to the AVJ blog to see the wonderful pieces created by my fellow Creative Guides. Fabulous inspirational pieces in a variety of different styles.
Thank you so much for joining me today and have fun with your challenge pieces!
