Bring your Own Sunshine
This is the first of a number of posts for today as everything seems to be happening on this the 1st April. And no joking!
First up is the new challenge at A Vintage Journey and the lovely Sandy is our host and she wants us to leave those winter blues behind and make anything that says SPRING using pastel colours.
It is your choice - a card, canvas, 3D or a tag, but remember it should be in one of the vintage, shabby, mixed media, art journalling, industrial or steampunk styles that we favour.
It may be spring here in Shetland but there is nothing much out in the garden except the snowdrops. Even the daffodils are still very much green!
Having had a bit of a clear out recently - well I started! - I found some old Maya Road greyboard books deep in a drawer and thought I would turn them into little hangings and this is the first. Having the snowdrops in mind I gave the greyboard an under coat of Granny Smith PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylic and then once the Crackle Glaze was dry I overpainted with Snowflake Fresco Acrylic. A little overstamping in Peeled Paint Distress Ink with my favourite text stamp filled in some of the gaps.
These little flowers are quite gorgeous and small enough to cluster around the little white frame made with paper clay.
I had been working with the Tim Holtz Wallflower PaperStash and this little chap jumped out at me, so he had to be included, especially as we do have a Robin in the garden at the moment too
It is still a little cold here (well it always is!) so I thought the sentiment was quite apt.
The arty shot!
I hope I have inspired you to join us in our challenge this month and if you need any more inspiration then just hop on over to the blog to see what the other Creative Guides have in store for you - you will be blown away!
Country View Crafts are our sponsor this month and there is £20 voucher for one lucky winner along with an opportunity for three pin worthies to join us in a future challenge.
Have fun whatever you are doing and I'll be back again later!

Thank you for your comment on my gears Pretend it's a plan card...I was almost blushing when you said you were working on a similar project--I'm so flattered that we would have similar thoughts going through our crafty brains! Hugs!
