Sew Special

Hello Everyone and welcome to the start of our new challenge at A Vintage Journey and the fabulous Jenny (aka Buttons) is our host this month and our theme is

SEW SPECIAL

Add fabric to your entry in some way, be it felt, burlap, ribbon or cloth and if you are really feeling brave maybe include a touch of real or faux stitching.

I decided to go completely down the sewing route and made this little Vintage Pillow. Sadly I seem to have lost all the photographs I took of the process!

I used a Hexagon Die to cut the linen and created texture with some Tim Holtz Texture Paste and the Ruler Layering Stencil before stitching and stuffing lightly.

I then added my embellishments using PVA glue (Cosmic Shimmer) which adhered really well to the fabric.

This lovely quote from the Artistic Outpost Think and Wonder set stamped beautifully on the linen.

I hope this has inspired you to join us in our challenge, but do hop on over HERE to our challenge blog post to see what my wonderful teamies have put together for this fabulous challenge.

This month our sponsor is Calico Craft Parts and there will be a special prize for one lucky random drawn winner. We are looking forward to seeing what ideas you have to incorporate this sew special theme in your vintage, shabby, mixed media art projects.

Thank you for joining me today and have a great weekend.
