Resisting Techniques .....

... no good in a craft shop but great fun in the craft room!

I have got rather hooked on using Distress Glaze since I got home from my holiday experimenting with a number of different types of background, including this resist technique which I found whilst searching on Pinterest for some post holiday inspiration!

And what better way than to share one of my experimental tags than today over at A Vintage Journey as it's Tag Friday (that once in a blue moon month with five Fridays where the Creative Guides share their most recent tag makes).

Anna-Karin at Layers of Ink showcased this technique for one of her Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenges and if you click the link here you can find her blog post and video. I have tried the technique with a number of different stencils but I loved the effect of the circles behind a cluster. Some of the more intricate stencils were a little too cluttered, but I am sure you will see them on other projects!

Along with the resist I used the Distress Wrinkle Free Technique to get my colour on to the background.

And I just adore this mix of Distress Ink colours:

Victorian Velvet
Rusty Hinge
Seedless Preserves
Dusty Concord

The flowers and ribbon were also coloured with this combination. If you are new to visiting my blog then you can find the tutorial for making the rose on the sidebar or click the tutorials link on the header bar.

Thank you for joining me today and DO hop on over to A Vintage Journey to see the amazing tags created by my teamies.  We always love a Tag Friday and the chance to create something quite individually without a theme.

Have a great weekend.
