More Spookiness ....

Hello and welcome to another "spooky" project! The very talented Anne is our host this month over at A Vintage Journey and it will come as no surprise that such a lover of all things Halloween the theme is .....

Make It Spooky!
As we approach All Hallows' Eve we want you to create a vintage, shabby, industrial steampunk or mixed media project to celebrate the spookiness of Halloween, don't limit yourself to black, orange and purple - just "make it spooky"!!

I decided to go for a mixed media journal page for this project having just got Tim Holtz's wonderful Halloween Ephemera Pack in the post.

I started with a gessoed spread in my journal and used Fossilised Amber, Rusty Hinge and Wilted Violet Distress Spray Inks to get colour on the page. Unfortunately they didn't show up as strongly on the gessoed background. But you know me ... I love muted colours!

I used the same Distress Inks and layering stencils over the top and finally added some texture paste through a text stencil. No idea why I got the urge to stamp the grasses!

I then used the Ephemera pack to create little collages around the pages. I also had some leaves left over from a previous project.

Not your usual Halloween colouring !!

Again more Ephemera and that gorgeous gate die which I know I am going to love.

I do so hope you will be able to join us in our challenge this month. Country View Crafts are our sponsors and there is a £20 Voucher for one lucky winner and of course the chance to be chosen as a Pinworthy entry and to join us as a Guest Designer. So do hop on over to A Vintage Journey to see what spooky projects my fellow Creative Guides have created this month!

Happy spookings!

Have a great weekend.

The muted tones are perfect and I quite like the grasses, they remind me of witches brooms (OK so I have a vivid imagination at this time of year - lol). The ephemera pieces are beautifully collaged and the spooky words are just the perfect finishing touch! Love your page! Hugs, Anne xx

Oh Jennie, only you would manage to combine elegance and beauty with Halloween and spookiness.... I just love the fact that you used colour so subtly and the spooky elements have been combined to perfection! Wonderful spread!!
Gorgeous colours and wonderful layering of the ephemera and die-cuts - I've been hovering over the Buy button on those wrought iron gates, and I think you've probably just tipped the balance! Fabulous pages.

Jennie, only you can make a Halloween journal page look so soft and elegant and appear to be perfectly spooky nevertheless! I do love your muted colors and the grass stamp really adds extra witch-y look to this scene. You have completely won me over with the Gothic fence--got to add that to my list of Halloween wishes which I won't get to use until next Halloween! Thank you for enabling, I mean, inspiring me! Hugs!
