Mini Book and Crafting Heaven!
As some of you will know I have been on holiday in Crete and on my way home had a stopover in Edinburgh and had the wonderful opportunity to meet up with Astrid, Rita and Annie for a crafting session.
Astrid had already die cut these little Eileen Hull Passport Mini Books for us to use and we got stuck in with texture paste, gesso, Infusions and Distress Oxides.
We managed to cram in a lot of work as well as laughter and cake but the time passed just too quickly!
Here are some close ups
We all started with a coat of gesso, then texture paste through a stencil. Then the surface was primed with Chalk PaperArtsy Fresco Paint before having fun with PaperArtsy Infusions using lots of water - as I do! I think I used Sunset Beach.
Then I added layers of Distress Oxides:
Worn Lipstick
Vintage Photo
Walnut Stain
before adding some text stamping
I really love this final effect.
We also got to use Lynne Moncrieff's new stamps which are just the perfect size for this little mini book and stamped so beautifully on the coffee stained paper Astrid had also prepared for us.
I am not quite sure what I want to use the little book for yet, so decided to keep things reasonably plain. This is a great size mini book for using up scraps of some favourite papers. These are the remains of my Prima Almanac papers which I have had for ages waiting to use for something special.
So yes .... crafting heaven ..... a fabulous project and an opportunity to craft with three very special friends, something I don't get the chance to do living here on this remote island.
Thank you for joining me today.
