Scrunched Tattered Floral Roses
It's a long time since I posted a scrapbook layout!
Last Saturday I was asked to lead a flowers session for Shetland Scrapbookers and to come up with a simple layout which could also be made in the time available.
It wasn't possible to make my usual water spritzed flowers in the time available so I decided to use scrunched paper and it worked a treat!
I used some Prima Vintage 6 x 6 papers and these were pretty thick but I still managed to scrunch them. The trick is to get them started, open them and turn the paper and scrunch again. If you keep doing this it get's easier (even for my arthritic hands!).
What you end up with is something that looks and feels like suede, not paper.
We then used these sheets to cut out Tim Holtz Tattered Florals and then made the roses in the usual way (see the tutorial here). We also made some little rolled up flowers as well.
I used the same papers for my layout - a quick crisp and clean design on a sheet of cream cardstock the only difficulty being ensuring the squares lined up!
As my layout and flowers were all made from the same papers they co-ordinate perfectly.
I shall certainly be using scrunched paper again as it really did make for a lovely flower and was considerably quicker than spritzing and waiting for them to dry!
