Favourite Paper Stash!

We have a fabulous new challenge at A Vintage Journey this month
PAPER STASH!
Sandy is our host and she is challenging us to use our beautiful scrapbook papers we have hoarded over the years. You can find all the details of the challenge HERE at A Vintage Journey as well as some fabulous inspiration from my Creative Guide team mates. 

I have had fun using some of my favourite Stamperia papers and combining them with Eileen Hull's Dies.

I can't tell you how difficult I found it to use these papers! I thought I was going to need counselling after I cut the first piece! The problem is they are double sided and are absolutely fabulous on both sides.  In fact it took me ages to even decide which piece of paper to use! 

I have used Eileen's Trinket Die to make the outside box. I really love this die and you can cut the paper quite economically. I have left the aperture open and and filled it with one of the most gorgeous tags in the whole set.

Inside the box is a small notebook and I have used another of Eileen's dies, the Needle Book, to make this. Again I have cut a large tag from the papers and placed it directly over the die to get the most from the paper. 

I have used the title plate from Eileen's Box Storage Die as well for the cover.  

A little bit of paper decoration inside using another tag ..... along with tea stained papers.

I am hoping that my gorgeous grandaughter will love this box and book in a couple of years time as I certainly had her in mind whilst making it. But in the meantime I will just keep on drinking in these lovely papers!

So elegant, beautiful colors! You made it look more special bij the way you took the picture!
It looks as if you cut a picture from a magazine! But we know that it is handmade!

Oh Jennie, I so know what you mean about the Stamperia papers! They have pretty much become my favourites of all companies. I bought some of their papers years ago in France and fell in love then, it is brilliant that suddenly they have taken off everywhere.

Anyway, as to your project, it is totally beautiful and such a great idea to combine the two dies. Well done for taking the plunge! xxx

First of all, I had such a chuckle at your anxiety over using this paper. We've all been there. I think my mom has never used a lick of the paper she's bought because of this very anxiety! So she always enjoys having me cut into my stash when we "play" together. LOLOL! What a sucker am I! But yes, those two-sided beauties do cause us such grief... Jennie, I totally ADORE this project. I love this stunning box and your other incredible uses of Eileen's dies. This calms me and truly speaks to my soul, I could stare at the details all day. :) Hugs, Autumn

I just love your trinket box Jennie! what lovely colors on your beautiful papers - the little pearl accents along the oval and your sweet sitting Miss with a bit of cheesecloth are just lovely in front of the pretty florals - and then you open the box and see the wonderful lace lining AND a sweet little book! What a lovely gift it will be for your granddaughter! xx

Those papers are gorgeous Jennie and its easy to see why it must have been a hard cutting into them but you have certainly done them proud, showcasing them superbly creating two elegant and beautiful pieces that I'm sure will be treasured for a very long time by your granddaughter.

Well, Jennie, I love Eileen's dies and I totally agree about the anxiety with the Stamperia papers - I think you definitely chose the right side. The trinket box you created is gorgeous and the little needle book is such a perfect addition. Love this! Hugs, Anne xx

How lovely - definitely worth making the cut into those papers for... but I agree it's really mean when they're double sided and you only get one go to decide which you're going to use! I love the box frame and the charming album inside - delightful.

Jennie, you have certainly tickled my funny bone this morning, making the day ahead much more enjoyable! I literally laughed out loud over your possible need for counseling, as I have been there, done that! That double sided dilemma! But pat yourself on the back for letting go and using these gorgeous papers on this lovely box and booklet! What a treasure for your granddaughter! You are making me question why I've never gotten these dies. Thank you for the laughter and for this beautiful inspiration! Sending hugs!

It can be so difficult to make that first cut and when those papers are double sided it can be so much easier if we do nothing at all. I actually stopped buying double sided paper for that very reason.
You've showcased a real beauty Jennie and I adore Eileens needle book die, such a handy die. Thank you very much for sharing.
