Embossing Moments
Hello and welcome!
It's the fifth Friday of January so over at A Vintage Journey the Creative Guides get the chance to create for our Tag Friday. It is always fun to experiment and what better than to try some of the lovely products I bought back with me from Creativation 2020.
I was very lucky to meet and get to know the lovely Kim Evans of Emerald Creek. Her embossing powders are quite different to anything else I have used in the past with lots of lovely textures and colours. For this tag I have played with Seth Apter's Vintage Beeswax and Gwen Lafleur's Moroccan Sun (from her Boho Blends). (I also got to meet the lovely Gwen too!)
I love how the Moroccan Sun creates quite a rusty feel when used with some brown ink.
And the Vintage Beeswax works well on a cream cardstock die cut too.
Another die cut which was inked a bit more before applying the Vintage Beeswax.
You can just about see some of the stamped texture in the Vintage Beeswax.
And here is how it came together.
I collaged some vintage papers onto my tag and applied a little Distress Ink
through a layering stencil.
Three coats of the Vintage Beeswax were then layered over the top of the papers. On the last layer I stamped into the hot wax to create a bit of texture but it is difficult to see it in the photograph.
The die cuts were cut from ordinary cream cardstock and inked a little before adding a single layer of the Vintage Beeswax. The result is a nice quality die cut which certainly doesn't look like cream cardstock!
The cogs were cut from greyboard and I embossed a single layer of Moroccan Sun
adding a little brown ink around the edges.
A lovely chance to play with some new products and thank you Kim for being so generous in giving me a little bag of lovely products to play with.
Do hop on over to A Vintage Journey where nearly all the Creative Guides have this month created a tag for your inspiration. And you can join in as well .... all the details are on the blog.
Have a great weekend!
