Leftovers Love for Eileen Hull Designs

We have a great theme over at Eileen Hull Designs this month ..... Leftovers Love.

We've all got them! ..... a box or drawer of leftovers .... little bits and pieces which we can't bear to part with ..... the last of a pack of paper .... bits of stamping ..... collected items for recycling ....

I decided to use the last of a favourite pack of Stamperia paper. There were just some bits of papers and one larger sheet. So I used Eileen's Waterfall Die to make a small book and used the larger piece to make an envelope for it.

There was a butterfly to cut out and a small word, but also a large enough piece to make a small flower as well.

Inside the book has been decorated with photographs (I have used Tim Holtz Photo Booth pictures but small vintage photos or cropped modern ones would look good as well) along with some quotes.

I think this would make a super little present for a favourite relative or friend with original photographs.

Here is how it came together:

I cut as many pages as I could from the leftover pieces (six in all)

I glued the pages together quite tightly so it hasn't got the usual waterfall effect but just a slight offsetting of pages.

One of the pages I used for the back glueing the spine over the folded and glued pieces to finish it off.

Looking down from the top of the book you can see how tightly the pages are glued.

I used one of Eileen's older dies to cut two pieces - one from board and another from leftover paper. These little tab shapes are really good for capturing the ribbon on the back of the book.

I used my envelope maker to create a little envelope measuring 4.5" x 4.5" and added another sentiment.

It is always nice to use a die in different ways and although I have made waterfall books for many of my journals this is the first little stand alone album I have made with it. And I am so pleased to have used those gorgeous scraps!

Do check out Eileen Hull Designs and the Facebook Fan Club page for lots of inspiration from the teams this month. And why not get out those scraps and join us.

Happy crafting !

Cool way to use the Waterfall die Jennie 👏 I keep every scrap of my special favorite papers too ❤️ Sometimes using leftovers is better than when you have a plan for a full on project!
