Swirlyhues Scrapbook Challenge : December Palette
Sadly a nasty chest infection has kept me from my craft table this last 8/9 days which has been frustrating as I had so much I wanted to finish off! But I appear to be on the mend now (thank heavens!), although I collapse into a fit of coughing at the slightest irritation. But over the last couple of days I have managed to finish my December Layout for the Swirlyhues challenge.
Here is this month's storyboard, colours and sketch layout. When I first saw this I wasn't too keen, but white IS my favourite colour, so I thought I would just go for it.
I've had plenty of time to sit and think about the layout and gather pieces together. Gather pieces together! ha ha ! I had one piece of Bo Bunny Christmas paper and some scraps, but it is amazing what you can do with little bits and hiding the joins under the flowers!
The final requirement for the challenge is to use one of the tutorials on the Swirlydoos site. So I used Lisa Gregory's Poinsietta Flower Tutorial, making mine from white cardstock using a lily petal punch and then edging them with Woodware Puffy Stuff. I really love the way they have turned out. I always have some gorgous pink and mauve clematis growing in the polytunnel during the summer so I think I may try some in pink and mauve cardstock with the white edging.
Swirlydoos is a great site for scrapbook inspiration, some absolutely gorgeous layouts and now regular technique videos and other inspiring stuff two or three times a week. Since I have been visiting and entering the challenges, my scrapbook style has certainly altered.
Have a great week everyone!
Callum was absolutely mesmerised by the Christmas tree but despite the "grabbing" looking hand in the photo he touched everything so very gently and didn't attempt to grab anything.
