Compendium of Curiosities II - Faded Layers

Another week and another challenge from Linda at Studio L3 from Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities Volume II ............ Faded Layers.  I love this technique and have also been able to use the new fabulous seasonal distress inks - Shaded Lilac and Peakcock Feathers.  I think that Dusty Concord and Broken China have now been knocked off their pedestal!

I wanted a simple card for my friend and fellow guitarist and singer at church on Sundays who tomorrow undergoes a serious operation.  I think she will like these colours.  (It is stuck down squarer than it looks in the photograph, although things have not been quite the same since I got my new varifocal glasses!).

I made another piece using the same colours and made this into a card for a family member whose birthday is coming up shortly.

I can't tell you how to do the technique but I can tell you it is on page 43 of the book and a very good book it is too!  And it is amazing how many different ways everyone has used this technique, so it is worth hopping over to Studio L3 to see Linda's fabulous tag and the other entries.

Thanks for looking!
