Altered Spoon Bloghop with Susan Brown

Hi everyone! It's great to be back crafting and blogging after a great time sailing the west coast of Scotland (more in another post).  I needed a project to get me back into the swing of things and Martha invited me to take part in this wonderful Altered Spoon Bloghop Challenge. Just what I needed. 

 

So here is my entry - a wedding spoon. All the goodluck wedding traditions go back to the mists of time, but I do know that the wooden spoon originated in Wales and was given to a lady by her admirer and was usually hand carved to show he was good with his hands and could provide for a future wife.  A carved heart would be to show affection. 

No hand carving in mine, but some of the flowers are handmade.  I just need a happy couple to give it to now!
