Truly Nautical in more ways than one …..
Wow it is September! and today we start a new challenge at Country View Challenges which is Nautical - just perfect for me!
For my DT piece I am sharing a small nautical project made at sea - well not quite at sea, but whilst at anchor on Mrs Muir in various little bays on the west coast of Scotland. So no craft room was used in the making of this project, just the lid of my projects box which was balanced on my bunk in the forepeak which is not very stable if another boat decides to pass by!
These are the supplies I took away with me for this project - as you can see not very much!
The little book measures 3.5" x 2.5" and all the details of how to make the book and the wallet are HERE on my blog.
The individual pages are all very similar, but it does make for a cohesive design.
The photographs are from our holiday last year - we have been sailing the west coast of Scotland and the Western Isles for eight years now and whilst it is a delight to visit new anchorages we have many favourite old ones too.
The wallet is made from an old Admiralty chart Terry was going to throw out. If you can get hold of one from a sailing friend they are great to work with as the paper has a wonderful quality and is surprising tough as it has to withstand lots of navigational marks with pencil, rubbing out etc. Terry would be horrified to see me putting so many smudges and stains on it!
I used a few Tim Holtz Rub-ons and a chit chat sticker and a rather lovely compass from Kaisercraft to complete the wallet.
And so there you have it - a truly nautical mini book!
I do hope you will join us for our challenge this month and do hop over to see the rest of the projects from the Design Team and of course keep visiting through the month as there is a post every other day on the challenge blog and on the in between days there are projects posted on the Country View Crafts Project Blog. So plenty to inspire you!
Thanks for visiting today!
