With a Flourish for A Vintage Journey
I am thrilled to be hosting the next challenge at A Vintage Journey which starts TODAY! The theme for this challenge is
With A Flourish
Have you ever noticed that much of Tim's packaging includes that fabulous flourish? It has always been one of my favourite
Tim images, so for this challenge we would love to
see what you can do with your flourishes!
You might not have any actual "Tim" flourishes, but I
am sure we all have a flourish die or stamp in our
stash which can the Tim Holtz
shabby/vintage treatment.
And this is what I have done with mine.
:the (fabulous!) Fabulous Flourishes stamp which was one of my first purchases;
:the Elegant Flourishes Bigz die,
again one of the first I bought; and
:the flourish embossing strip which came with the Springtime Texture Fade Set
(so you get the feeling I like my flourishes!)
I stamped the large flourish stamp on white card using Versamark and white embossing powder. I then applied Faded Jeans Distress Ink around the edges as this was the best match for the papers I used from the French Industrial Paper Stack.
The die cut flourish got a coating of Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint directly onto the Grungepaper.
The flowers were made using white Stampin Up cardstock and the Tattered Florals Die (there is a tutorial here on my blog for these curled roses).
I layered all my paper pieces onto a 6" x 6" card and felt the papers benefited from some machine stitching before layering my finished embellishments with some lace and scrim.
Don't forget that there is a fabulous Country View Crafts Voucher for one lucky winner and the chance to join the Design Team in an upcoming challenge. Just remember to read the "Travelling Instructions" and tell us in your blog post what Tim products and/or techniques you are using.
I hope you all flourish with this challenge! (sorry …………)
