Spring Blooms
Hello everyone and welcome to another 1st of the Month (where do the weeks go?)and yet again it is time for a new challenge theme at Country View Challenges. As March is a blogaversary month for us Chris has chosen "Anything Goes" and so a lovely opportunity for everyone to have a go at something new or get stuck in to some old favourites.
I recently bought a new stamp and die cut flower set from Heartfelt Creations (Arianna Blooms) and I have been playing around with them and have created a slightly different flower to my usual makes.
For the large bloom I used three of the petals. The bottom layer I embossed in white and blended Dusty Concord DI around the edge. The upper layers were stamped in Dusty Concord and then had more Dusty Concord blended around the edges. I spritzed the petals lightly with water and then pleated each petal separately. Once dry I layered petals together inserting the stamen die cuts in between.
I love the depth created by the layering.
The small flowers were stamped in Dusty Concord DI and a little blended around the edges. Then I layered these on top of each other rather than staggering the petals. A little moulding with a ball tool on a foam mat creates just enough interest.
I got quite carried away and made more flowers from the left over pieces! This card is 4" x 4" and uses similar elements to the larger card.
And so more cards for my card box - I am doing well this year!
I do hope you will join us at Country View Challenges and hop on over today to see the rest of the DT makes. And do keep a look out through the month as all the DT members will be back with another project.
Thank you for joining me today and I hope you are enjoying a lovely restful Sunday.
