The Promise of Spring

Spring is my favourite time of the year, not least as I seem to be able to be on top of the garden! But it is the promise that Spring brings which I love, those little seeds and bulbs which bring those gorgeous summer blooms.

These were the thoughts that were in my head when I played around with some bits and pieces in my "must put away" box for Tag Friday over at A Vintage Journey.

This is one of my favourite times of the month - when we have an extra Friday in the month and the Creative Guides at AVJ all get to "play" and make a tag! I do suggest you hop on over using the link HERE as there are some amazing tags from my CG sisters in so many different styles. So much inspiration! Right back to my tag!

I had some PaperArtsy Fresco's left over on my craft mat from another project (Sugar Plum and Blush) so mopped up by brayering them on to a tag. It was a little bright for what I had in mind so I brayered Snowflake Fresco over the top to get a shabby finish. The scores were made at 1/2" intervals and I blended a little Vintage Photo Distress Ink into the folded creases to get the faux wood panel effect.

The napkins were still in my box from February's AVJ project!

Once the napkins were in place I just felt it needed a little cluster. The frame and butterfly are made from paper clay and I added some glass micro beads (a recent purchase) but the "here and there" is a little difficult to control!

Great crafting fun and thankfully my "must put away" box is a little emptier!

As always thank you for joining me today.
Happy crafting!

Breathtaking, Jennie, as always! I love how you've made the shabby faux wood planks, and your napkin roses are just gorgeous! Where do you get your beautiful napkins? I have quite a stash, but nothing quite so gorgeous! Your handmade frame and butterfly are just perfect and look so wonderful layered with the lovely blooms, button, medallion and beads. Just lovely! Hugs!
