Back to Nature for A Vintage Journey

Hello and welcome! It's time for another new challenge at A Vintage Journey and we are all going

BACK TO NATURE

This month we are asking you to celebrate natural elements in your project. Think real nature in terms of twigs, dried flowers, shells or pebbles, or perhaps stamps and stencils depicting these wonderful elements.

Immerse yourself in the colours of the seasons whether they be bright or muted and
create a project in our preferred styles of vintage, shabby, mixed media, art journaling,
industrial, timeworn or steampunk.

I am the host for this month's challenge and have had great fun creating my project from three pieces of wood I found in my husband's wood store. I have teamed them with coffee stained textiles and painted metal embellishments and made a hanging using some very thin wire so it looks as though the wood pieces are floating.

There are no details to share with you at this time as I will be back later in the month at A Vintage Journey sharing a tutorial of how it was made.

But in the meantime here are some photographs to whet your appetite!

My fellow Creative Guides at A Vintage Journey have created some fabulous inspiration around this challenge theme, so do hop on over HERE to catch up with all their wonderful makes.

And do please join me later in the month for the tutorial.

Have a great weekend!

Absolutely love this, Jennie - the romance of the driftwood, gorgeous embellishing, and that little girl perched at the heart of it - it all adds up to a really special creation.

Jennie, I loved this theme, and you have created a lovely wall hanging using those wood pieces! The sweet girl looks so at home among the textiles and pretty flowers. A beautiful beachy make! Hugs!

PS I originally wanted to use the piece of driftwood I used as a prop in my photos--so happy I didn't! I have a feeling it's going to turn into something Halloweeny!
Jennie this really is ever inspiring, I can not wait to see how it all came to be. You have set my imagination racing on this one.
Creative wishes Tracey xx

What a wonderful wall hanging Jennie! Your drift wood pieces almost look like dried bone - wonderful light colors on them - lovely light and lacy adornments on them with the pretty ribbon and sweet vintage miss taking a seat!

Naturally beautiful ! Adore this , Jennie . I'm a real lover of wood , especially driftwood , as it holds a 'story' of its own . You have embellished with thought and sensitivity bringing out the best of both elements .

Looking forward to your tutorial
