Vintage Mini Notebook
Hello and welcome to you all on this first day of yet another month!
As usual my first post of the month is for our challenge over at Mini Album Makers where every month we hope that you will join us in making an album or book in any medium or theme. We just loVe making books!
I got a bit caught out a couple of weeks ago and realised that I had got totally muddled by the days and weeks of the month and suddenly realised it was my friend's birthday that day. So what to make really quickly? As luck would have it Eileen Hull's new Notebook die had arrived the day before so I dived in and made this little vintage book in next to no time!
I have used some fabulous 13Arts papers and vintage elements already in my stash.
Not much in the way of embellishment .......
.... but just enough to add a bit of interest!
I used Eileen's die to cut both the board and papers for the book. These 13Arts papers are only printed on one side, so no agonisingly long decisions about what side to use! I like to cut the papers in three rather than trying to glue them around the book.
I cut some already tea dyed papers using Eileen's Passport Die for the inside signatures and marked where the holes needed to be in my covers and punched them using my Crop-o-Dile (it has a good long reach).
I then stuck the papers down on the inside of the book covers, trimming the spine lightly so the covers fold easily.
I then re punched the holes through to the inside and added my two signatures using some hessian twine. Voila! then just a few minutes more adding a few embellishments.
I am very pleased to say my friend loved the book and had no idea I had only made it that morning ..... (hope she doesn't read this !!!!).
I hope this gives you some inspiration to join us in our challenge this month. Sometimes we really feel like pushing the boat out and creating a masterpiece ..... sometimes it is nice to pull something together really quickly. However, you are feeling this month I hope you will join us.
