Grungy Monday 28 : Metal Embossing and Alcohol Inks

I was annoyed to miss last week's challenge, but I was just toooo busy.  A little easier this week, so I am pleased to be taking part again.

The Tim Holtz technique for this week's challenge is here.  Not so much a technique more an amazing pumpkin!  No pumkins left here, so I took the technique and embossed a 4" x 6" piece of silver metal and then sat wondering what on earth to do with it!   Then for some reason, I suddenly remembered that I hadn't made the covers for my journal of our holiday in the summer (just three months since we have returned .......!)  I chose stream and aqua alcohol inks, together with a bit of sunset orange which perfectly matched the colours of our wonderful cruise of the west coast of Scotland.  So now my journal is bound and I have had a lovely time re-reading about our adventures.

Linda has made a most wonderful gift box from her sample and there are some lovely ideas and wonderful work in the gallery, so do click the link here and pop over and see them.

As I write this the wind is banging around the house. It is slightly less strong than last night, which was awful.  Violent storm force 11 winds were forecast and we certainly got them.  At 2 am this morning, hail was hitting the window at probably 70 mph.  Thankfully the polytunnels are still standing in the garden!  But we have more strong winds and wintry showers forecast for tomorrow and sunday.  Winter has arrived ................

Have a good week everyone.

Hi Jennie
The texture is amazing and gorgeous colours.
I have one of your stunning ATCs in my swap book :) I am sure your book will arrive any day now
It was such fun to be part of this and Penny may well have convinced me to start making ATCs more often.
Cold and damp here but thankfully the winds have died down, they were horrendous during the night.
Wishes
Lynne
