Experimental Daubings!

Catherine Matthews-Scanlon meets Paper Artsy!

Am I loving these Paper Artsy Fresco Paints!  They really are fabulous and I am fascinated by the way they blend so well.  And the Grunge Paste with the new Tim Holtz masks works a treat!

I love this Black Eyed Susan stamp from my friend Catherine Matthews-Scanlon. I am very grateful to Catherine as she has taught me so much over the last couple of years and in particular got me started on mixed media, something I was quite afraid to start. I am so pleased that she now has her own range of stamps and masks at Art Gone Wild.

I only have opaque Fresco's at the moment so the white was a bit streaky for painting, but I still love the overall look.  For the background I combined Pansy, Orchid, Toad Hall and Vintage Lace.  I also used them on the metal too which was quite successful.

Thank you for popping over and having a look. I've got more tags ready for decorating today, so you may get a bit fed up with my experimental daubings!!

Fabulous tag Jenny. Like you, I love mixed media, but need to get back into it again. Astrid has been a great mentor to me and I managed to get to a Finnabair course in Glasgow last year. Hugs Rita xxx

Like Rita, I did a Finnabair class and am now hooked on mixed media too. Your tag is beautiful, the daisies look wonderful. You could try mixing the white with some of PA's Satin Glaze, it keeps the paint wet for longer and makes it easier to use on smaller elements. Hugs, Anne x

Blogger is not playing well today, so hope this one gets through! I love your tag, the daisies look wonderful painted in the white and the background is beautiful. If you mix the white with some of PA's Satin Glaze it helps to make the paint stay wet longer and makes it easier to paint small areas. Hugs, Anne x

Fabulous tag Jennie and those stamps look fantastic! Great the way you have used them together with the textured background!
So glad you're enjoying the Frescos - they really are amazing, aren't they?! And the grunge paste is cool too - it looks great here, giving lovely texture and dimension to a really cool tag - love the white petals!
