Layering Challenge!
I always love a challenge and when a friend at the end of last year asked if I could come up with a layered design card which could easily be posted this got me thinking about how I could use some of my products a little differently.
So this is what I have come up with -
Using a Sissix Framelit Die I have embosssed directly onto the card and then layered the smaller die cuts over the top.
The embossing is really quite effective and when combined with sanded card stock (which gives a white edge) another layer appears to be created. I did use Sticky Fixers on the stamped layer, but I have found that one layer of sticky fixers does not catapult the cost of postage into the upper echelons of bulky mail!
It took a bit to work out the "sandwich" for the Big Shot, but here it is:
I think you will agree that it is quite effective and I do love another way of using my dies.
I used Staz On ink to stamp the Decorative Label and painted with Stampin Up Classic Pads by squishing them onto my craft mat and spritzing with a little water - they do have quite a lovely watercolour feel. (Hmmm - my Happiest Birthday stamping is a little squint!)
Thanks for looking x

It took a bit to work out the "sandwich" for the Big Shot, but here it is:
- open tab base
- bottom plate
- cardstock shim
- rubber embossing mat
- card
- framelit with cut blade upwards (most important!!)
- cutting plate
- folded A4 sheet of printer paper
I think you will agree that it is quite effective and I do love another way of using my dies.
