Spring Flowers for A Vintage Journey
I am thrilled to be hosting the fourth of our challenges over at A Vintage Journey and being a little keen on flowers (!) I have chosen the theme:
Spring Flowers
We want to see your makes adorned with spring flowers.
You might want to use stamps,
handmade flowers from dies, ideology blooms
or bought blooms
as long as they have been stamped, made or altered
using a Tim technique or product.
They don't have to be actual spring flowers
but the colour of spring!
I actually set out to make something entirely different! but amazing things happen when you start to create and you get carried along!
I created lots of tag shaped layers with papers from the new Wallflower Collection and stitched them to create a little bit of texture. I tore an opening in the front where I layered my handmade flowers made from the Tattered Florals Die using yellow and cream card stock.
I also made some small rolled roses but instead of distressing the edges I lightly edged them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
The small buds were made by scunching up the smallest of the flowers on the Tattered Florals die and wiping a little Vintage Photo over the closed bud.
By this time everything was hanging off the tag! So I made a quick and simple hanging - Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint layered onto a piece of heavy card stock with a palette knife (which seems to be my tool of the moment!).
The final touch was to add a couple of butterflies from the Papillon Stamp Set.
I do hope you will join us at A Vintage Journey for this challenge. Please do pop over and visit us and be inspired by the wonderful pieces from the rest of the Design Team. More inspirational pieces will be posted on Monday's and Friday's so do revisit.
Have a great weekend!
