Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 33 : Altered Metal Alcohol Inks
Amazing - it is yet again another week and another Challenge over on Linda's blog Studio L3. This week the technique is Altered Metal with Alcohol Inks. With no actual metal items to alter and a time limit of 45 minutes (!!!!!!!!) I just had to use what was to hand.
So ....... the Cuttlebug was out, as was the Tattered Floral Die. I took the first embossing folder which came to hand and cut and embossed some craft metal in minutes. I used Sunset Orange and Cranberry AI on the flower (it is a very grey day here and I needed cheering up!) and layered the flower using foam pads. The rest of the tag was put together from bits lying within the vicinty of my desk and yes ... I made the tag in less than 45 minutes. Not my best by any stretch of the imagination, but I've managed to complete the Challenge and get it posted before getting packed up and going away for a few days to a family wedding in Exeter (which is a long trip from Shetland!).
Do take some time to look at the wonderfully inspirational entries over on Linda's blog: Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 33. Linda's own work is wonderfully inspiring and her altered metal flower for this challenge is absolutely gorgeous. As usual I cannot explain the technique, but you can find it on page 56 of the Compendium of Curiosities Book.
So off to pack .............. have a fun week everyone!
